Check out the Mos Def-sampling "She Couldn't" — one of the set's many previously unreleased tracks
Published Aug 13, 2020Linkin Park are looking back at one of their most celebrated moments and treating their Hybrid Theory to a sprawling 20th anniversary edition. Better yet, among the piles of bonus tracks is some previously unreleased material like "She Couldn't," which you can hear now.
The celebratory reissue of the 2000 album will arrive on October 9 via Warner via multiple expanded formats. These include a massive 5xCD set, as well as a 3xLP vinyl edition and a seriously massive super deluxe box set.
In addition to the original Hybrid Theory, the Limited Edition Super Deluxe Box contains five CDs, four LPs and three DVDs. Among all that material is the remix record Reanimation, LPU Rarities with 18 exclusive tracks from the Linkin Park Underground (LPU) fan club and the Forgotten Demos with 12 unreleased tracks, such as "She Couldn't."
On top of that, the deluxe box contains a pile of extra goodies, such as an 80-page illustrated book, oversize poster, replica tour laminate, a 2-track street team cassette sampler, and new lithographs from Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn and Hybrid Theory art director Frank Maddocks.
For a small glimpse of that bonus content, you can hear "She Couldn't," which is a previously unreleased 1999 track that samples the voice of Mos Def from the High & Mighty's "B-Boy Document '99." Check it out below.
You can now pre-order the various versions of the set over here, where you can check out the extensive details and tracklist.
News of the reissue follows the death of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, who died in 2017 at the age of 41.
