Creed Singer Scott Stapp Is Playing Frank Sinatra in a Ronald Reagan Biopic
Yes, the world is indeed full of surprises
Published Dec 16, 2020If Scott Stapp has always reminded you of Frank Sinatra, you apparently somehow aren't alone, as the Creed singer has just been cast to play the legendary crooner.
Yes, Scott Stapp will be portraying Frank Sinatra in a new movie, once again proving truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
Billboard reports that Stapp will make his feature film debut in the upcoming biopic about Ronald Reagan, simply called Reagan, which will find the '90s alt-rock bro taking on the role of Sinatra.
Apparently, Reagan will feature a scene in which Stapp will perform as Sinatra at the Cocoanut Grove, "at a time when Ronald Reagan was president of the Screen Actors Guild and the club was a staple of old Hollywood," Billboard reports.
The film, directed by Sean McNamara, is slated to arrive in 2021, and it will find Dennis Quaid in the titular role of Ronald Reagan.
"Sinatra in performance mode was an exercise in restraint," Stapp said in a statement. "He had this steely, stylish swagger and his sheer presence commanded a room. I was excited to join the cast and blown away by the on-set attention to detail, style, and overall production."
McNamara added, "We are honoured to have Scott in Reagan. Scott's known for big, high energy performances so it was a thrill to see him shift gears to embody Sinatra's contained charisma."
