Published Oct 23, 2020Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker recently joined forces to release a 2000s throwback pop-punk album called Tickets to My Downfall, and now the album is being turned into a movie-length musical. No, really.
Speaking with NME, MGK said that the musical movie is "a new pop-punk Grease." He added, "It was almost like shooting 14 music videos back-to-back, but with a narrative that's outside of my personal life stories."
"It focuses on other characters, and then me and [Barker] are just the narrators," he continued. "It's an interesting concept because it hasn't been done for an album ever, maybe outside of like Pink Floyd's The Wall."
So yeah... if Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker making a musical movie that is inspired by pop-punk, Grease and Pink Floyd's The Wall is something that appeals to you, then stay tuned.
