El-P and Killer Mike Team Up for Joint R.A.P. Album
Back in August, alternative hip-hop master El-P came out of a long absence with a new instrumental record called Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3. His return to music will continue in 2011, as he's reportedly immersed in a collaboration with Atlanta rapper Killer Mike.

Rap writer and friend of the artists Maurice Garland revealed the collaboration in a blog post, writing, "Killer Mike and El-P have been in the studio together for the past week or so. I've been kind of tied up myself so I didn't really get a chance to stop by and see how things were sounding until this past Tuesday. It pretty much sounds like what you would expect from these two. Dark, dense, gritty, raw and any other adjective you can come up with to describe all things hard and rough around the edges."

The album is called R.A.P. Music, which is an acronym for "Rebellious African People Music." Garland coined the term on Twitter and Killer Mike liked it so much that he borrowed it for the project. Garland also reported that the album will feature guest spots from many underground rappers and producers, but declined to name names.

R.A.P. Music does not have a release date as of yet, but it's expected in mid-2011 courtesy of Adult Swim. A brief untitled sample of the duo's work together can be streamed below, and as could be expected, it's a dark, synth-heavy track that points to potentially great things on this record.
